Today’s installment features a fashion legend whose fame began in 1856, when a 21-year-old Thomas Burberry opened up his shop. Thomas brought gabardine outdoor-wear to the London public and began a movement that has lasted over 150 years. Quality and craftsmanship anchored the business; even today Burberry is named among the most valuable brands.
Every time I hear the name Burberry I think of couture runway designs, the Burberry check, and the fragrance of a musky, intense perfume. Burberry is iconic.
I have chosen to highlight the brand by pulling floral pieces from their collections, whether they be outerwear, sweaters, or silk dresses. The “painted-on” look is playful and simultaneously artistic and also makes me want to design my own line. Some pieces are new arrivals, some are not, but ALL of them are fabulous.
P.S. Make you scroll down to the last one; it’s my favorite!
